The country’s clothing imports were recorded at £21.256 billion ($25.86 billion) during 2022, a 23.50 per cent increase compared to the imports of £17.034 billion in 2021.
The UK’s clothing imports in January 2023 decreased by 12.67 per cent compared to December 2022, with imports worth £1.392 billion. However, clothing imports for the entire year of 2022 increased by 23.50 per cent to £21.256 billion compared to 2021. The UK imported £35 million worth of textile fibre in January 2023, which remained unchanged from the previous month of December 2022. The total textile fibre imports for the year 2022 were £545 million.
